On November 7th, 2023, MSCI ESG Research kicks off our eleventh MSCI ESG Ratings model consultation. The consultation provides clients with an opportunity to provide feedback on proposed model enhancements, which has kept the MSCI ESG Ratings model at the forefront of identifying ESG risks and opportunities. Join the MSCI ESG Research virtual event on November 7th, where we will walk through the proposed changes in more detail.
Investor clients and rated corporate issuers are invited to participate in the consultation process and share their feedback before December 6th through an online survey.
This year’s consultation will focus on the following proposed changes:
- Proposed changes to the MSCI ESG Industry Materiality Map, which determines the relevance of ESG key issues to each industry.
- Proposed changes to the ESG Ratings industry peer set groupings.
- Proposed introduction of buffer zones around the letter rating band thresholds to improve ESG Ratings stability.
